Gray Newman is former Chief Latin America Economist and Managing Director at Morgan Stanley where he was in charge of all Latin American macroeconomic research until 2014. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 2000, he was Senior Latin America Economist at Merrill Lynch. Prior to that, he was Chief Economist for Latin America for the Hong Kong Shanghai Bank (HSBC) in New York and Senior Economist for Interacciones Casa de Bolsa. He has been ranked #1 as Latin American Economist in eleven of the past thirteen annual polls by Institutional Investor. Gray holds degrees in Law (University of Virginia) and Economics (College of William and Mary).
